Bitcoin's future value continues to be a topic of intense speculation, as indicated by Finder's latest survey, which gathered opinions from cryptocurrency experts. According to the survey, BTC is projected to reach $77,636 by the end of 2024. Long-term predictions suggest that by 2025, its value will grow to $113,364, and by 2030, it could reach as high as $282,238. However, there are differing opinions regarding the mainstream adoption of bitcoin for everyday transactions.
Finder's survey, conducted in October 2024, provides a comprehensive analysis of bitcoin's projected value, incorporating insights from 28 crypto specialists. The company stated, "On average, our panelists believe that bitcoin (BTC) will be valued at $77,636 by the end of 2024, slightly lower than their previous prediction of $87,169 in our July report. Looking further into the future, they anticipate the price of BTC rising to $113,364 by the end of 2025 and $282,238 by the end of 2030."
These figures suggest cautious optimism regarding bitcoin's growth over the next decade. However, the panelists hold diverse opinions about BTC's future. Finder explained, "Our most optimistic panelists predict that BTC will be traded at $125,000 by the end of 2024, while our most pessimistic panelist believes that it will drop significantly below its current value, reaching $40,000 by the end of the year."
Despite these fluctuations, a majority of the panelists believe that now is a favorable time to invest in BTC. Finder noted, "Specifically, 61% of the panelists consider bitcoin a worthwhile investment at its current price, while 32% believe that it is best to hold onto the asset. Only 7% believe that it is time to sell."
This indicates a high level of confidence in BTC's potential, even in the face of short-term volatility. However, when it comes to the widespread adoption of bitcoin, experts are less hopeful. When asked about their expectations for BTC to be widely used for everyday purchases in a developed country like the U.S., most experts do not foresee this happening in the near future. "Nearly one-third (32%) believe it will never happen, 21% predict 2030, and 11% say 2036 or later," described Finder.
