Hanoi, Vietnam, July 2nd, 2024, Chainwire.
SubWallet, a leading wallet solution for the Polkadot, Substrate, and Ethereum ecosystems, has recently made significant updates to its platform. In the last two weeks of June, SubWallet announced support for the Polkadot <> Kusama bridge and the Polkadot <> Ethereum bridge on its browser extension. Additionally, SubWallet integrated the Asset Conversion pallet on its web dashboard, allowing users to easily swap among DOT, USDT, and USDC on the Polkadot Asset Hub network. These updates expand the use cases of the Polkadot ecosystem, and SubWallet is proud to be the first to support them on a sleek user interface with a seamless user experience.
Polkadot has been working diligently to expand its ecosystem and offer more use cases for its users. The second quarter of 2024 has seen many long-term developments moving into the production and launch phase. Two notable developments are the Polkadot <> Kusama bridge and the Polkadot <> Ethereum bridge, which have been in the works for several years. Unlike most current bridges, which have some level of centralization, the Polkadot bridges are fully trustless, significantly reducing risks for users. Currently, users can securely bridge DOT and KSM between the Polkadot Asset Hub and Kusama Asset Hub, as well as several tokens including WETH and WBTC between the Polkadot Asset Hub and Ethereum.
Another highlight in the second quarter of 2024 is the Asset Conversion pallet on the Polkadot Asset Hub. This feature allows for swapping between assets registered on the network. The Polkadot Asset Hub has been designed to become the liquidity hub of the entire ecosystem, and the introduction of the Asset Conversion pallet marks the first step towards realizing that vision.
While these updates are innovative and pivotal for the Polkadot ecosystem, they may seem inaccessible to users without a clean user interface and friendly user experience. This is where SubWallet comes in. With over 2.5 years of experience building user-friendly wallets for the Polkadot ecosystem on three platforms, including browser extension, mobile app, and web dashboard, SubWallet is well-positioned to integrate the two bridges and Asset Hub swap. As of June 2024, SubWallet has over 1.6 million downloads and 800,000 active users and devices. SubWallet prides itself on being the first wallet to support these updates and provide users with a smooth and easy experience.
Hieu Dao, Co-founder and CEO of SubWallet, stated, "As a proactive agent in the Polkadot ecosystem, we follow ecosystem updates closely and are always one of, if not, the fastest to provide support. Polkadot has long been deemed unfriendly to users, and it’s our responsibility as the first touch point to change this belief. Bridging and swapping are crucial components of a flourishing DeFi landscape that Polkadot is heading towards, and we want users to have the smoothest and easiest experience with SubWallet."
Bridging is supported directly in the Transfer function, and swapping can be done in the Swap tab on the SubWallet platform. The swapping process includes cross-chain transfers, ensuring that users can seamlessly swap between different assets. For example, if a user wants to swap DOT to USDT on the Polkadot Asset Hub but only has DOT on Polkadot, SubWallet prompts the user to first transfer cross-chain from Polkadot to the Polkadot Asset Hub before making the swap. This built-in cross-chain feature also applies when users try to liquid stake with SubWallet using DOT from the Polkadot relay chain. This way, users can easily explore new features on a familiar user interface without having to navigate a third-party app and learn a new flow from scratch.
The quick integration of these updates has received enormous support from the community. The official Polkadot X account reposted the announcements, followed by numerous key opinion leaders making reposts.
SubWallet's mission is to onboard more users to the Polkadot ecosystem, and they plan to continue supporting new ecosystem updates as quickly as possible to provide users with an easy user experience. To stay up-to-date with SubWallet's latest developments, follow them on .
