PRESS RELEASE.
Paribu, Türkiye’s blockchain and crypto pioneer, honors the anniversary of the first Bitcoin transaction by giving away 100,000 pizzas as part of Paribu Pizza Day.
Paribu, the pioneer of Türkiye’s blockchain and crypto industry, is celebrating Bitcoin Pizza Day by claiming it as “Paribu Pizza Day” in Türkiye. As in previous years, Paribu will be giving away 100,000 pizzas to its users between May 19 and May 22, 2025.
Users who meet the #ParibuPizzaDay campaign requirements can receive their free pizza codes through the Paribu app. The blockbuster Paribu Pizza Day campaign and celebration serves Paribu’s mission to drive Bitcoin and crypto adoption in Turkey.
Why is May 22 Bitcoin Pizza Day important?
In 2010, computer programmer Laszlo Hanyecz made history by using Bitcoin as a payment method for the very first time. He purchased two pizzas in exchange for 10,000 Bitcoins, marking the first-ever documented transaction with Bitcoin. Widely recognized by the crypto community, this day marks the anniversary of the first real-world Bitcoin transaction and is celebrated as World Bitcoin Pizza Day.
Paribu has recognized this historic milestone each year through its #ParibuPizzaDay campaigns. Highlighting this moment as a key turning point in the history of Bitcoin and crypto assets, Paribu has embraced it under the name Paribu Pizza Day.
