The Dfinity Foundation, a Swiss-based not-for-profit organization and a major contributor to the Internet Computer Blockchain (ICP), has recently unveiled a groundbreaking initiative called the Olympus Acceleration Platform. This platform aims to foster the growth and adoption of Web3 technology globally, starting with a focus on Asia.
To kickstart the project, Dfinity and the ICP Asia Alliance have provided a generous grant of $15 million. This funding will be utilized to cultivate a vibrant ecosystem for Web3 and artificial intelligence (AI) in Asia. Additionally, plans are underway to launch similar initiatives in the European Union, Middle East, North Africa, Africa, and America.
Dominic Williams, the founder and chief scientist of the Dfinity Foundation, expressed his vision for the platform. He emphasized the goal of attracting new-generation projects to the ICP protocol. Williams stated, "By establishing a web3-based global platform that is accessible to all, we can bring together exceptional talent, projects, investors, and mentors. This will create a trustworthy marketplace that provides equal opportunities for all qualified projects. Unlike traditional accelerator programs, which are often limited and unsustainable, our platform operates in a permissionless manner."
The Olympus Acceleration Platform stands out due to its unique features. It adopts an open stake model, allowing seamless interactions between projects, mentors, and investors. Moreover, the platform incorporates onchain verification to track and evaluate key metrics related to project growth.
Prominent venture capital firms like Fenbushi Capital, Fundamental Labs, Softbank Vision Fund, Newtribe Capital, and Cypher Capital have already joined the program, demonstrating their support for this innovative initiative.
